Interest In an Original New Amsterdam Poster?

Hey all,

some of you may remember me as the proprietor of the New Amsterdam fan site ( http://newamsterdam-forever.com/ ). I've been exchanging messages with Nikolaj, he has graciously offered up an original FOX promotional poster for New Amsterdam as a giveaway, and I'm trying to gauge interest in this item.

I believe we'll have a give-away quiz and Nikolaj will be creating the questions. Anyone up for this? :-D

I think it would be a great piece of memorabilia for one lucky fan.

An Exclusive one-on-one Q&A with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau!

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Commander Francis Pike in Virtuality, was gracious enough to set aside a few moments of his time and offer to answer some questions for fans of Virtuality and his prior work while at his home in Denmark.

Click here to read part one of this exclusive Q&A. Part two will be posted later this week!

Lots of thanks and heaps of appreciation go out to Nikolaj!

If you enjoy the Q&A and would like to leave any positive comments, we have a thread in our forum for this:

Nikolaj has visited the forum in the past and even posted when New Amsterdam was being broadcast, he may read them. :-)

New Amsterdam Renewal - Status Update

I have received word from David Manson this morning that confirms it. FOX has officially canceled the series as of yesterday. To quote from his email:

"Yes. Unfortunately, I received word yesterday that Fox has officially cancelled NA. I know this will be a disappointment to the many fans who campaigned so ardently for its renewal. I can only express my gratitude for their passion and hope that perhaps some other network will let John Amsterdam live.

And my thanks to you as well.

Best,

David"

I normally wouldn't quote an entire email outright but I feel this is a message for all of us, every loyal fan.

While chances may be slim, there is still a possibility that Regency Television could find another home for the show. However, time is in short supply as actors and crew will eventually find other work.

I think it would be worth the price of a stamp to let Regency know you support the show and would like to see more of it.

I think it's, also, advisable to let FOX know - POLITELY - that you think their decision is a mistake. I recommend EVERYONE giving FOX a call on the Viewer Comment Line and letting them know you want to see more of John Amsterdam on your TV screens next season.

The telephone number to dial is: 310.369.3066

If you have postcards or letters you still want to send, please try to get them out this week.

Kevin Reilly
President of Entertainment, FOX

You may wish to send a second card, indicating your support to:

New Amsterdam
P.O. Box 900
Attn: FOX BROADCASTING Publicity Dept.
Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900

You can, finally, email FOX (but please do one or both of the above first) at: askfox@fox.com

New Amsterdam Renewal - Status Update

This last week I talked with the ever helpful David Manson, Executive Producer / Showrunner, about the status of New Amsterdam's renewal (or not).

At this point the jury is still out and, like I've mentioned previously in the NA:F forum, it appears that FOX will look at their new pilots to see what they have before making a decision about NA.

David points out that the ratings were only okay to marginal, amidst stiff competition, but the DVR and download numbers look pretty good.

Also, David does say "the fans should continue their campaign for renewal. I really believe it has an effect."

So, please keep sending those postcards and letters, and try to spread news of the renewal effort where ever you go. We, essentially, have less than 3 weeks to influence the decision before the traditional upfronts!
